Travel Advice
The closest airport to Avola and Siracusa is "Vincenzo Bellini" Catania Fontanarossa.

For guests outside Europe, we reccomend flying first to Rome Fiumicino Airport and from there taking a flight to Catania.
The hotel where we are booked no longer has available rooms.​
As the shuttle organised to bring our guests to the church in Avola will depart from there on the 2nd of May at 14.30, please make sure to book your accommodation in a hotel or apartment near it.

From Catania to Siracusa
There are regular public buses running from the Airport to Siracusa.
You can purchase the bus tickets online or directly at the airport: https://www.interbus.it/.
Rental Car

Places to see
Regardless if you are renting a car or not, there are plenty of nice places to visit in the area. Here you find some examples: Siracusa Archeological Park, Ortigia, Ragusa, Modica, Mt. Etna, Taormina, Marzamemi, Palazzolo Acreide and Modica.
